The Oxfordshire Ales brewery can be found on the outskirts of the village of Marsh Gibbon on the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire borders. The village has long been associated with beer making and brewing with records tracing back as far as 1850. This brewery legacy provides a perfect backdrop for the Oxfordshire Ales range.
Oxfordshire Ales rescued the brewery from Picks based in Manchester, and with the help of Richard Keene, transferred it to the idyllic setting of Marsh Gibbon, where we rebuilt and revived the brewery into the success it is today.
We researched in depth some ancient ale recipes which we incorporated into some of our finest ales. The brewery is designed to produce optimum results using traditional brewing methods and quality ingredients chosen with care to give the distinctive easy drinking, thirst quenching flavour associated with the Oxfordshire Ales brand.
Sourcing superior ingredients for our beers means that we produce a consistent quality ale brew after brew. We use traditional Warminster Floor Malt, from Warminster Maltings, Britain’s oldest working floor maltings. Warminster use British barley grown on the Hampshire chalk lands specifically for their use. This quality malt gives a natural, long lasting flavour to our beer. To bestow just the right hint of bitterness and bring out our characteristic aroma we add a balanced amount of Styrian and English Golding hops.
Oxfordshire Ales have successfully provided Ale in barrels to pubs and restaurants throughout the country, and members of SIBA and CAMRA. Following the purchase and installation of our bottling line, Oxfordshire Ales have successfully expanded their range, giving even wider appeal and the chance for customer to enjoy the Oxfordshire Ales experience at home.
